Four staff posts for a hematology research project

AIIMS Rishikesh is recruiting one Project Research Scientist I Non-Medical and one each of Project Technical Support III, II and I. The ICMR-funded multicentre study examines whether complete blood-count information and machine learning can help predict hemoglobinopathies and distinguish them from iron-deficiency anemia. These are contractual research-project appointments, not regular AIIMS posts. Applications close on 31 October 2026.

Research Scientist I eligibility, age and pay

The scientist post requires a postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or Biotechnology, including an integrated postgraduate degree. Clinical-setting experience and previous research or work involving inherited blood disorders are desirable. The stated upper age is 35. The vacancy table gives ₹56,000 monthly plus HRA of 10%, shown as ₹5,600. Applicants should link their actual education and relevant research background to this post rather than assuming that the technical-support qualifications apply equally to it.

Technical Support III and II criteria

Support III accepts a relevant three-year graduate degree with three years of post-qualification experience, or a relevant postgraduate degree. AI/ML knowledge is desirable, the upper age is 35 and the table gives ₹28,000 plus 10% HRA. Support II requires science at Class XII, a relevant BSc MLT qualification and two years of relevant experience; its age limit is 30 and the table gives ₹20,000 plus 10% HRA.

Technical Support I and experience calculation

Support I requires a relevant three-year BSc MLT qualification and one year of relevant experience. Its upper age is 28 and the vacancy table gives ₹18,000 plus 10% HRA. The notice counts experience only after obtaining the minimum essential qualification. Check the complete row for your chosen post and provide the corresponding certificates; the four advertised posts do not share a single interchangeable qualification or experience rule.

Contract wording and remuneration clarification

The study is described as a three-year project, but the individual contract clause says six months or project completion, whichever is earlier, with later renewal subject to performance. It also refers to annual renewal. Do not interpret the project duration as a guaranteed three-year appointment. The salary table itemises HRA while a general clause limits remuneration to the consolidated amount; confirm the final admissible payment and renewal terms with the project team before accepting.

Selection date, venue and joining timeline

The notice schedules the interview from 10 am on 3 November 2026 in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seminar hall. The committee may use a written examination, interview or both, and shortlists using essential and desirable qualifications. Bring the completed application, original records and a self-attested set if called. No TA/DA is paid. Selected candidates must join within five working days after result declaration under the published terms.

Email application and enclosure checklist

Complete Annexure 1 for the chosen post, sign it and combine the application and enclosures into a single scanned PDF. Send it to icmr.hematology.aiimsrishikesh@gmail.com by 31 October. The notice lists photograph, age evidence, school and degree records, applicable postgraduate/PhD evidence, experience certificates, category evidence, identity and publication support as applicable. Fill the post-qualification experience table with dates and duties rather than attaching an unsigned résumé in place of the prescribed form.

Application guidance for laboratory and research candidates

Organise evidence so that the selected post's requirements can be checked quickly. A laboratory applicant can identify relevant work periods and responsibilities; a scientist applicant can describe clinical or blood-disorder research without sharing identifiable patient material. For Support III, distinguish AI/ML coursework from practical implementation if you claim that desirable skill. These are editorial suggestions for a clear application, not a demand for extra tests, publications or project documents beyond the notice.
