Technical Assistant-LMS vacancy overview
IGNOU’s non-teaching advertisement 69/2026/Admn. includes two Technical Assistant-LMS posts: one UR and one OBC-NCL. These are the LMS-specific vacancies within a broader recruitment that also contains other technical disciplines. The post is classified as technical and carries 7th CPC Pay Level 8. Applicants should select the LMS vacancy rather than assuming that all Technical Assistant entries have identical experience criteria.
Essential education and marks
The required qualification is BE or BTech in computer science or information technology, MSc in computer science or information technology, or MCA from a recognised university or institute with at least 55% or an equivalent grade. The detailed advertisement governs equivalence and documentary proof. A generic computing course or unrelated technical role should not be treated as satisfying the named qualification without checking the employer’s rules.
Three years of relevant LMS experience
At least three years of working experience in learning management systems is required. The notice covers installation, configuration, customisation and administration of Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard or equivalent platforms. Relevant work includes e-content deployment, course and user management, access control and online assessments in the specified educational, public-sector, government or reputed IT settings. General desktop support is not automatically the same as LMS administration.
Desirable integrations and certifications
Experience connecting an LMS to videoconferencing tools, ERP or student-information systems, repositories and other e-learning tools is desirable. The notice gives preference for relevant credentials such as Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas certifications and Google education-related certification. These are preference areas; the essential degree, marks and experience conditions remain central. List only certificates that you hold and can document.
Age, pay and posting location
The published normal age limit for Technical Assistant is 37, with applicable relaxations governed by the notice. Pay is Level 8 rather than a single promised take-home salary. Selected staff may be posted at IGNOU headquarters or a regional or regional-evaluation centre across India. A headquarters application address therefore does not guarantee permanent posting in New Delhi.
Online deadline and application fee
The online window is 3 October to 2 November 2026, closing at 23:59:59. Apply through the Samarth portal linked by IGNOU. The fee is ₹1,000 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and ₹500 for SC/ST/PH/ex-servicemen/women as categorised in the notice, with applicable bank or tax charges borne by the candidate. Check the correct fee category before paying; the notice says fees are not refundable.
Paper submission is also required
After online submission, the signed printout and self-attested copies of relevant documents must reach the Recruitment Cell by 12 November 2026. The stated address is Room 13, Block 7, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068. Treat this as a separate receipt deadline, not an extension of the online window. Keep a copy of the completed form and dispatch details for your own records.
Experience proof and selection information
Experience is reckoned on a post-qualification basis. Certificates should state the employment period and nature of duties; the notice excludes certain part-time, daily-wage and visiting/guest arrangements when counting valid experience. Originals are required at verification, and government/public-sector employees must meet the NOC conditions. IGNOU may shortlist using qualifications, experience or tests and will publish further examination details if a written recruitment test is held.
Practical preparation for an LMS application
Prepare a clear employment timeline and map each relevant period to actual LMS responsibilities: upgrades, course deployment, user roles, assessments or integrations. Ensure your employer certificate supports the duties claimed, not only your job title. Read the general reservation and document provisions for your category, then verify both submission deadlines. This check is more useful than assuming a broad IT résumé proves three years of LMS work.
