One GiveMeTIME research-support vacancy

JIPMER Medical Oncology is recruiting one Project Technical Support-III for the ICMR-funded GiveMeTIME study. The multicentre observational project examines time toxicity for people with advanced malignancies receiving palliative intravenous systemic therapy. The appointment is under Dr. Prasanth Ganesan, with the notice referring to Puducherry/Karaikal. This position combines patient interaction and research support; it is not a generic technical laboratory post despite the Project Technical Support title.

Psychology qualification routes

One essential route is BSc Psychology with three years of experience in psychology. The notice alternatively lists postgraduate qualifications in counselling psychology, applied psychology or psycho-oncology. Applicants should map their actual degree title and experience to one of those routes, rather than assume any social-science qualification is equivalent. Relevant post-qualification experience must be supported by the certificates and employment details supplied in the application.

Social-work and public-health alternatives

A social/health-science undergraduate degree with three years in medical social work or patient counselling is another route. The listed postgraduate alternatives include Medical Social Work and Master of Public Health. Clinical work with patients, cancer-care exposure and qualitative-research experience are desirable. These preferences help distinguish the likely strongest fit, but they do not justify inventing a new degree requirement or applying the undergraduate experience condition indiscriminately to every postgraduate alternative.

Interviews with patients and research work

The recruited staff member conducts qualitative and quantitative interviews and may help provide psychological support or counselling. The work involves people with advanced cancer and can build experience in psycho-oncology, research methods, report writing and qualitative analysis. Application guidance: consider both sensitive patient communication and consistent documentation. The notice does not publish a fixed caseload, counselling-session target or requirement to independently deliver a particular named therapy.

Age, remuneration and appointment

The maximum age is 30 on the application closing date. The likely project appointment is 17 months, with consolidated pay of ₹33,600 per month including HRA and no other allowances. Engagement is temporary, dependent on external project funding and subject to extension or curtailment under the investigator's terms. Selection gives no claim to regular JIPMER service. Compare those conditions with your present employment and availability before applying.

Email the prescribed form

Send the completed attached application, CV and supporting certificates as a single PDF to nocirecruitment@gmail.com by 5 November 2026 at 5 pm IST. Identify Project Technical Support-III and the GiveMeTIME project clearly so it is not confused with the same department's other recruitment. Use the required filename format and supply active contact details. A CV without the prescribed form and supporting records is not accepted; separate posts require separate applications and emails.

Published evaluation areas

After document-based shortlisting, the notice provides for written test/interview. Written evaluation areas include basic cancer knowledge, clinical research, Good Clinical Practice, patient-care skills, consent and drug storage. Interview evaluation includes responding to clinical-research and patient-management situations. Dates are communicated later; the investigator may use in-person or video interview under the stated terms. Travel or daily allowance is not paid, and video candidates are responsible for their own device and connectivity.

Application evidence and preparation

The application seeks educational and work histories, an experience description and supporting identity, age, qualification and experience records. Application guidance: describe a patient-interview, counselling-support or qualitative-analysis example, explaining confidentiality, consent and how you kept records consistent. Do not include identifiable case histories. Separate preferred cancer experience from other transferable clinical work, and watch JIPMER's official recruitment updates for the actual evaluation invitation and any change to arrangements.
