Clinical and allied-health intake at MCC

Malabar Cancer Centre in Thalassery has announced ten Staff Nurses, four Resident Staff Nurses, one Assistant Pharmacist, three Resident Pharmacists and one Occupational Therapist. These are nineteen clinical/allied-health places in a broader notice that also includes a separate System Analyst Trainee. Contract staff and resident/trainee appointments have different conditions. The employer's online window opens on 24 October 2026 at 3 pm and closes on 5 November at 5 pm IST.

Staff Nurse eligibility and experience

Staff Nurse applicants may use GNM with three years in a multispeciality hospital of at least 200 beds, or BSc Nursing with two years in such a hospital; cancer-treatment experience is preferred. Another route is GNM/BSc Nursing with one-year oncology training or Post-Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing and one year in a dedicated cancer centre or qualifying cancer wing. The notice recognizes specified post-qualification MCC/RCC/CCRC training/internship experience. KNMC registration and computer-working knowledge are required.

Pharmacy, therapy and resident routes

Assistant Pharmacist requires DPharm/BPharm and Kerala State Pharmacy Council registration; hospital-sector experience is desirable. Occupational Therapist requires BOT, with experience preferred. Resident Pharmacist lists DPharm/BPharm. Resident Staff Nurse accepts the listed BSc Nursing/GNM/Post-Basic Oncology Nursing route with KNMC registration. Do not substitute the resident qualification for the experienced Staff Nurse post or assume the Assistant Pharmacist's registration wording has been separately reproduced for every pharmacy entry.

Post-specific monthly remuneration

Staff Nurse pay is ₹32,550, Assistant Pharmacist ₹22,110 and Occupational Therapist ₹37,800. Resident Staff Nurse remuneration is ₹22,000. Resident Pharmacist rates are ₹16,500 for diploma holders and ₹18,700 for graduates. These are consolidated amounts, not pay-matrix scales. Compare the actual post and qualification band rather than treating the highest figure in the combined notice as the salary offered to every applicant.

Age and contract duration

Baseline ages are below 40 for the listed contract staff and below 30 for residents, assessed as on 1 January 2026. The notice provides OBC relaxation of three years and SC/ST relaxation of five. Contract staff initially serve 179 days; trainees initially serve 365 days. Extensions depend on performance and the stated tenure limits and breaks, with an overall maximum of three years under the relevant route. Neither category is a permanent appointment.

Online form, photograph and fees

Apply through MCC's linked website/online portal before 5 November at 5 pm. The digital photograph must be JPG, no more than 30 KB, and 150 by 200 pixels. Contract-post fees are ₹100 for SC/ST and ₹250 for others; trainee fees are ₹100 for SC/ST and ₹200 for others. Category recognition follows the notice's Kerala PSC list condition. Use the portal's payment gateway and verify details before submission, since correction requests are not entertained.

Selection and certificate verification

Selection is by written test/interview, with possible practical assessment according to the post. The notice mentions subject knowledge, attitude and aptitude as assessment areas rather than publishing one common question paper. Bring originals and self-attested copies when called. Test/interview information is communicated through email and the official websites. Experience is calculated after the relevant qualification up to notification date, so current employment dates and hospital details should be documented accurately.

Choosing the appropriate clinical role

Application guidance: nursing applicants should verify that experience certificates establish the required duration and hospital/cancer setting. Pharmacy and therapy applicants should make qualifications and applicable registration clear. Resident applicants should consider the trainee conditions and remuneration separately from experienced staff posts. The notice gives titles and qualification rules but not a complete day-to-day roster for each role. Confirm any work-allocation or schedule question with MCC instead of assuming it from another hospital's vacancy.
