SBI opens six senior AI and analytics positions; apply by 9 November

Six specialist positions and the work involved

SBI advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/30 covers one position each for GM and Chief AI Officer; DGM in Risk and Operational Analytics; DGM in AI Governance and Compliance; DGM in Data Engineering, Model Application Development and AI Ops; AI Solution Architect; and Enterprise AI Architect. All six are fixed-term engagements. The notice evaluates a different combination of technical delivery, oversight and leadership for each post.

Qualifications for leadership and architecture posts

For the GM and DGM posts, the listed routes include BE/BTech/MTech in the specified computing or electronics-related disciplines, the stated statistics/computer-science master's qualifications, MStat or MCA. An MBA/PGDM in finance and relevant AI certifications are preferred additions. The solution-architecture and enterprise-architecture posts have their own bachelor's/master's subject lists. Read the exact row for your chosen post; a broadly related qualification is not automatically accepted for every vacancy.

Required experience and leadership evidence

The Chief AI Officer post requires at least 15 years in banking, BFSI or IT, including three years of the specified senior leadership work. DGM posts require at least ten years, including two years of relevant leadership. Architect posts require eight years overall, with three years in the specified architecture or solutioning work. Individual-contributor experience does not replace the leadership requirement. The notice also excludes teaching and training experience from eligibility.

Age and the relevant cutoff date

Age and eligibility are assessed against 30 September 2026. The GM range is 40–55 years; the DGM range is 35–50; and the two architect positions use 30–45. Applicants should calculate completed experience after the qualifying education rather than simply counting the whole period since their first job. Where a certificate does not describe duties or management responsibility clearly, review SBI's alternative-evidence conditions before relying on it.

Pay, contract and place of posting

The published upper annual CTC ranges are ₹160 lakh for the GM, ₹120 lakh for the DGM posts and ₹90 lakh for the architect posts. These are negotiable upper ranges, not guaranteed offers or monthly take-home pay. The initial term is three years, with a possible two-year renewal at the bank's discretion. Mumbai is indicated, with the possibility of posting elsewhere in India. Review the performance-linked component and termination conditions before accepting.

How selection will be conducted

Selection consists of shortlisting, interview and CTC negotiation. The interview carries 100 marks, with the qualifying standard set by SBI. Shortlisted GM and DGM applicants must also deliver a ten-minute presentation about relevant work, projects or achievements. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview. The bank prepares merit from interview performance and can negotiate compensation during or after the interview process.

Online registration and fee payment run from 19 October to 9 November 2026. The fee is ₹750 for General, EWS and OBC applicants; SC, ST and PwBD applicants are exempt. Apply for only one post under this notice. Upload the required résumé, identity and age evidence, qualifications, experience records and applicable category certificates through SBI's official recruitment portal. Application preparation: useful evidence to assemble

As editorial guidance, build a short evidence map before filling the form: the requirement, the employer and dates supporting it, the team or programme you led, and the measurable result. Architecture candidates can distinguish the system they designed from the components they merely used. Governance candidates can describe an actual approval or monitoring process without exposing confidential material. This preparation supports an accurate application; it is not an additional SBI eligibility rule.
